Carvoeriro

Carvoeriro offers an excellent base and is centrally located so that every part of The Algarve is easily accessible. Close by, visit Silves Castle with its beautiful grounds, stunning views and charming town. Aglar Seco, with its spectacular cliff top views, caves and several restaurants offering excellent cuisine not to be missed for lunch or dinner under the golden sunset. Portimao, the nearest main town offers great shopping, markets and a wonderful new marina where you can relax at of the many cafes and restaurants.

Traveling outside the resort visit Portugal’s two main cities, Lisbon, the capital and Porto. Both offer cosmopolitan cities with excellent shopping, cultural centers, galleries, tourist attractions and lively nightlife. Stop at Porches, a typical Portuguese fishing village selling marvelous handmade pottery and mosaics. You can also drive or catch a bus to one of the other main resorts on The Algarve such as Praia de Rocha, Albufeira, Lagos, Vale do Lobo, Quinta de Lago and Villamoura, all offering the ingredients necessary for an excellent holiday.

Eating Out

Heavily influenced by a healthy Mediterranean diet, food is fresh, tasty and a little spicy at times. You will find plenty of restaurants serving European and Eastern dishes. However, for those who like to be a little adventurous while on holidays, you won’t be disappointed. Local breads served with olives and cheeses are often brought to the table as an aperitif while you ponder the menu.

Piri-Piru a spicy sauce served with sardines, chicken or lamb is excellent is a firm favorite, best washed down with a cool cerveza (beer). Seafood, lamb & chicken and veal are the most popular, usually served grilled, cooked in a clay oven or in wonderful soups & stews.
