For water sports activities check out Polvo Sports Centre where you can hire anything from a jet ski to a day trip on a luxury yacht. Many local vendors on the beaches offer water skiing, diving, fishing, dolphin safari, scuba diving, parascending, paragliding and even bungee jumping “aqua “style.

On land there are two sports complexes with leisure centre facilities, tennis, clay pigeon shooting, bowling, a cinema, entertainment centers and many day trips you can take to explore the area around Vilamoura and beyond.

Easily accessible by bus are theme parks within an hours drive such as The Aqua Show, Zoomarine, Slide & Splash, Albufeira Aquarium, The Sidecar Experience and many exciting night time extravaganzas offering dinner & a show.

Praia de Falesia surrounds the main town of Vilamoura and stretches for miles of soft golden sand. Other neighboring beaches easily accessible by the local bus service are Quarteira, Quinta do Lago, Vale Do Lobo and Olhos D’Agua, all offering great beach bars, restaurants and water sports facilities.

Golf

Vilamoura boasts 4 championship golf courses, all set in beautiful surroundings with stunning sea views and challenging obstacles for even the most skilled player. In 2005, the newly built Victoria Clube de Golfe course hosted the World Golf Championships-World Cup.Other renowned courses are The Old Course, Pinhal, Laguna and The Millennium Club. All offer excellent facilities, bar and club house facilities.

Eating Out

The social hub of Vilamoura is the wonderful area built around the harbour and the marina. A beautiful setting at any time, it comes alive at night with soft lighting, busy restaurants and cafes all offering excellent cuisine. Being a seaside resort, the menu is heavily influenced by seafood, many served in traditional dishes either grilled, in paella, stews and soups.
