Q. How is the price of my self catering accommodation calculated?
A. All properties are priced on a per house basis and cover the stated number of persons in each property.
Q. Do I have to book my accommodation for 7 days?
A. Minimum of 7 day stays in July/August. All other time our minimum requirement is 2 night stays. This can be weekend or midweek (depending on availability). If you cannot book your required dates on line, it is advisable to sent an email request.
Q. What is not included in the price of my holiday home?
A. Electricity and gas is an additional charge on all holiday homes. In most cases it is meter read and charged locally; the meter reading is taken on arrival and again on departure to determine the cost. In some locations, utilities are charged at a standard daily rate depending on the season. Please contact reservations at SelfCatering.ie for further clarification.
Q. Is bed linen provided?
A. Yes, all properties provide bed linen. Most of our houses also provide towels, however some have a fee per stay, for further details contact our sales team. Cot linen is not provided.
Q. What facilities are available in the accommodation?
A. All our self-catering accommodation provides fully fitted kitchens including washing machine, dishwasher, and microwave. Travel Cots and highchairs can be pre-booked prior to arrival at an additional charge depending on the location.
Q. When do I pay for my holiday home?
A. A non-refundable booking deposit of ý150 is payable at time of booking, the balance of payment is due 6 weeks prior to your arrival. Payment can be made by Credit Card, Laser Card, Cheque or Bank Transfer.
Q. Can I book my holiday home online?
A. Yes, most properties can be booked online, thus availing of our ý25 online booking deposit. Full payment is required for online bookings; this can be made by credit or laser card.
Q. What happens if I need to cancel my booking?
A. In the event of a cancellation, the following charges will apply:
a) Booking deposit of 150 Euro is non refundable
b) 4 to 6 weeks of arrival date; you will forfeit 25% of the cost or the booking deposit whichever is the greater of the two.
c) 2 to 4 weeks of arrival; you will forfeit 50% of the cost or the booking deposit; whichever is the greater.
d) Within 2 weeks of arrival; you will forfeit 100% of the cost of the booking
Q. What is the check-in time?
A. Upon receipt of your booking confirmation you will receive contact details for the caretaker. Check in time to your holiday home is normally from 4pm onwards, however it is advisable to ring 24 hours prior to arrival to give them an estimated time of arrival. If you require an early check-in this must be arranged with the caretaker.
Q. What is the check-out time?
A. Check-out is strictly 10am. However, in off season/quieter periods we try to be as flexible as possible and later check-out times may be pre-arranged with the on site caretaker depending on the availability of holiday homes at the given time.
Q. Do I pay a security deposit for my holiday home?
A. Yes, a security deposit is payable on arrival for your holiday home. The amount varies from place to place, but details are included with your directions. The security deposit for your holiday home is returned to you once the site manager is satisfied that the holiday home is left in order. If the holiday home is not left in a clean & tidy condition, part or all of the security deposit may be retained. Any breakages should be reported & paid for on departure. Excessive damage to any holiday home will be the responsibility of the person who made the booking.
Q. Can I take a pet to the holiday home I have booked?
A. A limited number of holiday homes allow dogs. You should confirm this when booking. Guide dogs are welcome at all properties.

Q. What is the minimum length of rental for a holiday home?
A. Normally this is 7 nights for villas and apartments, but many of our owners are happy to rent there properties for one night to several months, for more

A. 25% on booking of the accommodation and the balance 10 weeks prior to travel.
Q. What is the method of payment?
A. Major credit cards, Laser card, bank transfers and cheques are all accepted.
Q. How is the cost of my accommodation calculated?
A. The price is calculated for the villa on a nightly and weekly basis.
Q. What services are included with my booking?
A. Linen, house towels, maid service, pool, garden maintenance and utilities are included.
Q. What is not included in my holiday home booking?
A. As indicated on the villa description, additional services such as air conditioning, winter heating, pool heating, extra maid service, laundry of clothes are not included in your holiday home booking. Beach/pool towels are not included so bring your own.
Q. Am I covered for breakages?
A. Yes. A ý30 Damage Waiver is included in the total value of your holiday. This covers accidental breakages to crockery etc up to a total value of ý150.
Q. Can you arrange for extra beds for additional party members?
A. We can arrange foldaway beds for children extra cost payable (poa).
Q. How do I calculate the price of my holiday home?
A. The price can be calculated on a daily or weekly basis, refer to the date bands grids at the foot of each villa page.

Q. What if we have to cancel?
A. If you or any member of your party cancels the booking or part of it, this must be done in writing by recorded delivery or fax and signed by the party leader. Cancellation will become effective from the date it is received in writing at our office. All cancellations are subject to a charge payable by you. This is expressed below as a percentage of the total price.
Booking deposit is 25% of the value of the holiday and is non refundable.

Q. Is insurance included?
A. No, you must ensure you obtain suitable insurance at the same time as booking holiday. Please read your policy details carefully. It is your responsibility to ensure that the insurance cover you purchase is adequate for your particular needs.
