Good for families, value for money.
“We rented 3 cottages here (8 adults and 8 kids) at the end of June, accomodation was basic and clean, seemed all houses were basicly the same, all of us quite happy. Playground on site good and kept well, 3 tennis courts fine, and no problem getting rackets at no extra charge, same for pitch and putt clubs (course was playable, not like earlier comment). All the kids enjoyed themselves and had plenty to keep them occupied. I found reception staff friendly and helpful, laundry was reasonable too (large bag was 10 euro). Electricity was under 15 euro for each house at end of week which was ok too. Good base, we did Westport (Westport house is good but expensive!) in an hour and Salthill the same. Connemara Nat Park close - 10 mins, is free and nice also. We all really enjoyed our holiday and certainly would stay here again. ”-

Highly recommended family holiday.
“Very enjoyable stay. House was spacious and comfortable. Ideal location for a family, safe for children to play. The kids really enjoyed the park and crazy golf and all amenities on site, no extra charge. Electricity was 15 euro for the week. Bar was open most evenings with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Driving distance from Clifden. Loads to do and see in Clifden and surrounding areas. Lovely beaches. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning in the future.Mir and Matt.
ps watch out for the goat on the mountain!”

Great Value Family Break
“Having read the only previous review (titled disappointing), I wasn't expecting much from Clifden Cottages, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Stayed in mid June 2010 and all the family had a great time. Playground in the complex was very popular with our 2 year old. Was still very early in the season so most of the houses were unoccupied and the office was rarely open, but the manager was always contactable by mobile and was very helpful. Electricity was less than €15 for the week and washing service was very reasonable also. All in all, it was a great value family holiday - had paid nearly twice as much for the same standard accommodation in Wexford last year! ”-

Disappointing!
“I have rated this as high as 2 stars because Connemara is beautiful! Clifden Cottages are very disappointing and very expensive. I was charged €54 for 5 days of electricity! The house was damp and cold and difficult to heat. It is not the same as the picture on the advert. It is not within walking distance of Clifden town. The 210 acres is full of houses so there is no where to walk or anything - it is a big housing estate basically! There is a tennis court and play ground on site - good for kids. Mini golf is unplayable. Reception is only open very limited times. Very expensive for a poor standard of accomodation. I will return to Connemara but not to Clifden Cottages!”-
