Lisdoonvarna, in North Clare lies in the heart of the Burren region, just 6 km from the coast, and is Irelandýs only active spa center in Ireland. The town became famous for its matchmaking festival in September, and for the Victorian Spa in the picturesque setting on the banks of the river Aille.

Now Lisdoonvarna is a thriving small town but retains its old world ambiance and charm. This is an area of numerous ancient sites and historic remains including Ring Forts in the vicinity dating from the Iron Age. As a holiday base your home at Dun Brendain is just perfect. The small development of 16 houses which feature timber and stone cladding, are set in a lovely landscaped area just 50 metres from the center of town. The town itself has many shops and pubs featuring traditional music, and serving excellent food. You can sample the delights of wild Irish smoked salmon at the Burren Smokehouse.
