Ballyvaughan is located between the Burren and the southern coastline of Galway Bay. It is located on the N67 and is 39km from Ennis. 59km from Shannon Airport. Ballyvaughan is a fishing village. The beaches and coastline of Ballyvaughan are ideal for swimming, kayaking, boating and fishing. There is an abundance of pubs, restaurants, craft workshops.
The surrounding Burren area is renowned for its archeology, and it’s Arctic, Alpine and Mediterranean plants which grow all over the limestone landscape. Ballyvaughan is surrounded by megalithic tombs such as Poulnabrone Dolmen, celtic ring fort, medieval churches and castles.
The tourist information office is located in the craft shop at The Village Stores on the main street, next door to the Spar supermarket
