Cushendall lies in the heart of the Glens of Antrim where three glens Glenaan, Glenballyemon and Glencorp meet. It is locally known as the capital of the glens. The area's natural beauty was officially confirmed when it was designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
The town lies in the shadow of the table topped Lurigethan Mountain. The current population of the town is around 1500. They are well serveed with a golf course and boating club. Hill walking and water sports are also popular in the area.The town is also known for ot's traditional Irish music sessions and friendly pubs. Each August Cushendall hosts the Heart of the Glens festival.
