Leisure activities:
A few minutes drive away is the village of Kiltealy on the Carlow/Wexford border. This village has a post office, two pubs and roman catholic church and 2 grocery shops.
The nearest large town is Enniscourthy where there are plenty of amenities to occupy the whole family. There is a multiplex cinema, a swimming pool/recreation centre, several sports grounds and several recently built hotels. Surrounding the town, there is an 18-hole golf course, several pitch and putts, freshwater fishing, and a five-star spa Monart is just beside "The Still Pond". The town also boasts several historical sites and museums.
As no area of Wexford is far from the coast with the Atlantic Ocean on its south coast and the Irish Sea on its east coast, County Wexford has lots of busy harbours, coastal inlets, delightful fishing creeks and of course, lots of safe sandy beaches like Courtown, Duncannon, Rosslare and Curracloe. Curracloe beach was in fact used in the opening scene of the movie Saving Private Ryan.
Wexford counts is a county rich in history and heritage with major attractions like Duncannon Fort, Johnstown Castle and Gardens, Enniscorthy Castle, Dunbrody Abbey, Dunbrody Heritage Ship, Westgate Heritage Tower and Tacumshane Windmill.
Other places of interest to visit include John F. Kennedy Arboretum, Wexford Wildlife Reserve, Kilmore Quay Maritime Museum, the Irish Agricultural Museum and the Berkeley Costume and Toy Museum.
